Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Essential Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. Virginia “Rumpy” Ann was born May 29, 1943 in Hayward, WI, the daughter of Earl and Gertrude (Peterson) Cross Sr. She grew up in Lac du Flambeau and graduated high school in Minocqua. After high school she lived in various areas including Chicago, Minneapolis and Milwaukee before returning to the Hayward area. On August 18, 1984 Rumpy was united in marriage to Robert Morgan in Hayward. She worked for the LCO Casino in security for many years and retired from there. Rumpy was a wonderful cook and made the best fry bread around. She was always there for anyone who needed anything. Rumpy enjoyed her time at the casino playing bingo and blackjack and was a very proud Grandma. She will be missed by everyone. Rumpy is survived by her husband Bob; son Christopher Bruguier; daughters Marie Morgan, Roberta Morgan; granddaughter Brenna Bruguier; sister Darlene Papish; brothers William (Julienne) Cross, James Cross; several nephews & nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Earl Cross Jr., Charles Cross, Ervin Cross Sr.; sisters Josephine Cross, Joyce Cross. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 at St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission in Reserve. Father Gregory Hopeful will officiate with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13 at Pineview Funeral Service. Honorary casket bearers will be Tyrone Blackdeer, Michael Blackdeer, Tommy Cross/Sharon Starr, Dennis Gillbert, Michael Isham Sr., Lenny Morgan, Shellene Nebel, William Nebel, Nelda Shepo-Holmes, Florence Thayer, Rose Shumate and Cyrus Williamson. Casket Bearers will be Aristotle Asante, Joseph Blackdeer, Michael Davis, Stacy Guibord, Julian Martin and Russell Stoll.
